M.T.  Tyeskie

M.T. Tyeskie is starting his 22nd year in the field of education. M.T. has been working in athletic administration for six years. Before becoming the assistant director of athletics at Dallas ISD, he served as the athletic coordinator and head football coach at Emmett J. Conrad High School for seven years, helping 42 student athletes secure college scholarships. He was recognized as the district’s Athletic Coordinator of the Year for the 2013–2014 school year by Dallas ISD athletics department.

M.T. is a graduate of Lincoln High School of Dallas ISD. During his time at Lincoln, M.T. excelled in sports such as football, baseball, track and field and golf. M.T. was awarded Rivals.com top 100 players in Texas, Dallas Morning News top 100 players list, and received honorable mention All-State from Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) in football. M.T. received a scholarship to Louisiana Tech University where he played quarterback for the Bulldogs. Tyeskie was also a part of Louisiana Tech Western Athletic Conference championship team in 2001. While at Louisiana Tech, he was actively involved in the Players Council and was awarded the Western Athletic Conference All-Academic team maintaining a GPA of 3.5.

After earning his bachelor’s degree from Peru State College, M.T. received a master’s degree in educational leadership from North Central University earning a GPA of 3.91.  M.T. also completed Lamar University’s principals’ certification program in 2014. Currently, he is working towards his doctoral degree at Liberty University.

M.T. is deeply involved as one of the founding members of the development team for aspiring directors and head football coaches at the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators (TABSE). Additionally, he plays a role on the recognition and honors committee at the Texas Black Legacy Foundation. Tyeskie is also an active member of Texas High School Athletic Directors Association (THSADA) and Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA).

His coaching journey was launched at Molina High School, where he initially focused on mentoring quarterbacks. He then transitioned to roles as a quarterbacks’ coach at Skyline High School followed by taking on positions as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Lincoln. He also served as the defensive coordinator at North Dallas High School.

Tyeskie’s main objective is to ensure that each student- athlete is well prepared for college and future careers while cultivating an atmosphere of excellence. He places importance on establishing connections with his students. MT’s goal is to empower athletes with resilience and a solid character to overcome obstacles. Within Dallas ISD Central Athletics, Tyeskie strives to eliminate any barriers that may impede coaches and athletes from reaching their full potential.

MT is married to Donielle Tyeskie, an alumna of Carter High School of Dallas ISD. Donielle, currently works as a program specialist for Dallas ISDs P- TECH and Early College Programs. The couple has a 14- year daughter named Ayani, who attends D.A. Hulcy STEAM Middle School, in Dallas ISD.
