He has worked as a classroom teacher, coach, college recruiter, and secondary administrator in public education. He is a team player in the school leadership team, analyzing data and assisting with teacher development. He has extensive experience working in Title 1 schools, assisted in turning around schools, and has a track record in helping students pass state exams.

David started his career as an intern in public policy in Brownsville, Texas. He holds a bachelor's in Social Relations and Policy, a Master's in Public Administration, and a Principal certification. Outside of his professional life, he and his wife enjoy coordinating book clubs in their community's faith-based organization, dancing, barbecuing, and coaching T-Ball with his son. He believes that education is the great equalizer in bringing fulfillment to his family, has opened doors of opportunities to his former students, and has impacted students who otherwise would not have dreamed of reaching.
